Devi’s – New Beginnings: Discover the Buzz Around Never Have I Ever Season 4
Never Have I Ever is an American Comedy series created by Mindy Kaling and Lang fisher. This show basically depicts the childhood story of Kaling in the Boston.
First season was premiered on Netflix on April 27, 2020. Now, season four is released and premiered on Netflix on June 8th, 2023.
This show is famous amongst teen agers as it shows how a teenage girlwho is trying hard to make up her social status but her family, friends and society won’t make it easy on her.
Story Plot
The story revolved around Devi Vishwakumar (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan), a 15 year old Indian-American Tamil Hindu girl from Sherman Oaks, Los Angeles. After the sudden death of her father Mohan (Sendhil Ramamurthy) she loses sensation in her legs due a psychological trauma, she was kind-of half paralyzed. She was unable to walk for around 3 months.
She lives with her mother Nalini (Poorna Jagannathan). Devi is having two best friends Fabiola (Lee Rodriguez) and Eleanor (Ramona Young) and she is having crush on Paxton Hall-Yoshida (Darren Barnet).
Ben Gross (Darren Barnet) was a competitor of Devi in the school as both are very bright in studies.
One day, Devi stands on her legs miraculously in attempt to see her crush Paxton. Devi tries hard to change her social status in her school as she was teased by everyone (Whoa Devi, you look like an Indian Kardashian!).
Kamala (Richa Moorjani) Devi’s live-in cousin was forced by her family to get marry with Prashant (Rushi Kota) whom she never meets, but she was already in relationship with her college boyfriend. She was struggling to figure out between her boyfriend and arrange marriage proposal.
Devi spread rumours in school about her and Paxton being dating each other just to make herself looks socially cool. Then both of them started seeing each other, Ben is also having feelings for Devi , at the end Devi cheats on both of them with each other.

If you love drama series than its a must watch for you. I have seen all three seasons and yet to watch the fourth one. Being an Indian you’ll get the desi vibes also in between the season . It shows our south culture, you can see Bharatnatyam dance in the show. Sometimes you’ll hear Bollywood music as well in the season.
Overall, its a good series showing a struggle of Indian-American girl who is trying her best to make-up her social life.
